Taudaha Lake is a freshwater lake situated approximately 6 kilometers southwest of Kathmandu, in the town of Kirtipur, Nepal. The name "Taudaha" is derived from the combination of two Newari words: 'Ta,' meaning snake, and 'Daha,' meaning lake, reflecting its deep-rooted association with serpent mythology

Annual water bird censuses reveal a troubling trend: in 2014, 28 bird species were recorded, but by 2021, this number had decreased to 17 species. A stagnant decline !
